Marc Philippe

Marc is an experienced and versatile finance executive with a strong track record of successfully building teams, systems, and processes in high-growth, fast-paced technology companies spanning entrepreneur, mid-cap, and Fortune 100 environments. He is a change agent with strong strategic, financial, operational, technology and leadership skills.
Marc has spent the last 14 years building Google’s finance worldwide operational capabilities to keep pace with the company’s extraordinary growth and complexity. He had a direct line of reporting to Google’s first and second Chief Financial Officers and, as Vice President of the Global Finance Operations and Services team, built a strong governance and controls framework over the company’s worldwide financial transaction environment, including AML and KYC operations. At Google, Marc played a key role in evolving the company’s billing and payment systems strategy, as well as establishing the finance outsourcing strategy and operating model. Marc retired from Google in December 2016.
Prior to Google, Marc was an assistant controller and finance director at ONI Systems, an optical network equipment manufacturing start-up, and held various finance management positions at Quantum Corporation, a publicly traded disk drive manufacturer. Marc started his finance career at Arthur Andersen and holds an MBA from Golden Gate University, in San Francisco.

Before starting his finance career, Marc was a professional chef, working in restaurants on the east coast of the United States and France. Born and raised in France by American and French parents, Marc is keenly aware of the importance of cultural diversity. Marc lives in Los Gatos, California, with his wife, and has a son and daughter, both starting their adult lives.
